Luggage Reminders and Tips

Luggage can come in the form of a rolling suitcase, duffel bags, carry-ons, trunks, and backpack. No matter what kind of luggage you have, here are some tips you should follow to keep your traveling easy and enjoyable.

The more luggage items you have, the easier they are to lose during busy conditions. Conversely, you do not want to jam your belongings into a single suitcase otherwise it may break. Try to find a medium between these two choices. Maybe you could pack the majority of items in a large suitcase and place the remainder in your backpack or carry-on. This way you do not have to worry about space or keeping track of so many bags.

Some airlines are very strict about carry-on luggage, while others may not care as much. Regardless, you should not bring a bag that is too large or heavy. Even if your suitcase passes the airport restrictions, it may have a hard time fitting under your seat or in the overhead compartment. Check with your airline about the bag size limit before packing for your trip because some airplanes can fit larger suitcases than others. In most cases, you will be allowed to bring one carry-on bag along with another personal item carrier such as a purse, laptop bag, or backpack.

Stowing strollers is often a problem for parents who are traveling with small children. Although you may be able to bring your kids rolling suitcase as carry-on, a stroller will need to be checked in. If it is tiring to carry your child around, use the stroller until the last minute and then check it in. After the flight, it should be waiting for you along with the rest of your belongings. You may want to fasten the stroller legs to prevent them from breaking while it is in transit.
